Kae is finally well again!
So glad dat we've finally survived the 1st virus attack on Kae. Sighz.... Hv been on such an emo roller-coaster. Shortly after my previous post on wanting to shoo the flu bug away fast, Kae's fever suddenly returned with a vengence!! And last Sat night, Kae suddenly vomitted when she woke up from her nap and since there wasnt any night clinic open, we gona rush her down to TMC. Intially, we've tot that the PD will just assess little K at TMC but when we reached, the nurses told us that PD has called them to arrange for direct hospital admission for K!!! Guess being in a place with professional help is much better. Kae's fever remained consistently high on Sun (despite medicine, injections & bullet inserted into her butt...sobz)....and when the nurses take her temp every 2hrly, the chart on her temp is simply a very steep slope all the way up and the peak is at 39.4degrees!!
Finally, the fever started to subside on sun evening... but due to medication, kae is super groggy and just seem stoned round the clock. My heart ached so much =( And i guess a sick bb is most in need of physical comfort. I hv to carry her round the clock, even when she's asleep. Even when i need to put her down on the bed to change her diaper, she will cry and cry non-stop until i'm done and carry her up again. She also refuses to be carried by anyone except me and mil! So the onli time i can go toilet and bath is when mil comes to visit! Though on one hand, it's super tiring to hv a little koala bear clinging on to me, but on the other hand, it feels very good dat I can provide little kae the comfort dat she needs.
It's quite sad at TMC, being on a floor where most of the rooms are occupied by sick bbs/kiddos. Each time a nurse enters into a room, you can hear bb cries immediately. Medicine time is indeed a dread. On sunday, there's a 2mth old bb being admitted due to fever too. The confinement lady who stayed with the bb in the hospital is quite fun and nice to chat with. She keeps "complaining" abt the bb's parents on how they cant take care of the bb and the bb dont even want his own parents to carry and only want her. She did the confinement for the bb's mum and stayed for another additional month as the bb's parents cant cope. Even when the CL went back to the custom to stamp her passport to extend her stay in SG, the bb's parents need to get another fren to come over to help out with the bb. When i saw the CL next morning, i was surprised! She's the one who stayed with the bb in TMC! the bb's parents went hm! hhhmmm.....anyway, glad to hv her ard too coz yakking with her certainly help us to pass time faster! hee hee....
Haiz.......in short, juz glad this episode is over. Kae's back to her normal playful self and is so notty! And it's time for us to hv Kae gain back all the weight she've lost in the past week and have her look even more chubbier than b4!! hiaks!!!
