Another wedding dinner
This is certainly a hot month for marriages. Attended a wedding at Pan pac last sat & was nearly bored to tears. Was actually not veri close to the bride (ex-colleague), & though i noe half of the pple at mi table, am not veri close to them u see...so juz some "painful" small tok here & there haha. Luckily, halfway thru the dinner, saw some closer frens at another table & there're a few empty seats there. So i hopped over & started to enjoy mi nite....wahahaha
Haiz.....Tink i juz dun noe how to reject when i rec'd wedding invitations from pple whom i'm not so close to. Feels awkward if i were to come up with some excuse not to attend, esp given dat i'm not someone dat plans alot of activity b4hand. So usu if the inivitation comes 1 or 2 mths in advance, i'll most prob b free. Anyway, weddings are joyous occassions so feel very bad if i were to give a negative reply.
But quite a number of mi frens hv forewarned mi dat i'll certainly see the "true" colours of alot of frens when i get started on my own invitation process next yr. I'll start to hear all sorts of excuses dat will render dat person being unable 2 attend mi dinner. Sighz......guess dat's life. Am pretty worried abt the actual attendance on the dinner banquet itself. Wldnt look very nice if alot of the tables r half-filled or even empty yah? esp mi dinner is on a weekday ie. Monday....haha...
oh...then another fren added in dat the 2nd time i'll see the "true" colours of frens is when i open all their ang baos!!!! wahahahaha
Attended another wedding dinner at Sheraton yesterdae. Also an ex-colleague (groom). The ambience in the ballroom is not too bad, but it's L-shaped. So when the couple walk-in, not everyone can see. I must say, the speeches dat the bride & groom delivered are one of the farniest & natural ones i've heard so far. Well, it's no surprise, given dat the groom has all along been very good with words & pple. And he realli sounds so HIM when delivering the speech...haha...Guess the tekan session in the morn is quite siong....& when he's thanking his parents, all his xiong di etc, he also thank the jie meis "for being at the gate...at the door....at the stairs.....basically for being everywhere"!!!! haha.....& he also mentioned dat someone veri dear to him once said " Marriage is a want, not a need". And for him, he's certain that his marriage is a want. Awww....so sweet....
And he did mentioned this to mi before too. Dat someone dear is actually his dad. =)
i was commenting to another fren dat it's so unbelievable to see him getting married. haha..coz he is quite a playful chap & juz dont look like someone dat will settle down so soon la. And mi fren actualli told mi dat i'm not the 1st one to say this. Another colleague oso told the groom this & he replied "Yah...i can't believe i'm getting married too. Only my wife believes it."
I nearly fell off my chair!!! hahaha **PengzZzZz**
Next Tues hv yet another wedding dinner. Tis time round, it's a current colleague's dinner @ Marina mandarin >.<
Another dinner coming up 1st week of jan too....jia lat....hope mi bonus comes real soon!!!!!
